The new ZX240-7 three-way crawler excavator has just joined the fleet of Meneguzzi, a family-run company based in Talmassons (Udine), which deals with the construction and maintenance of road building works, excavation and earthworks, demolition, primary urbanisation works, and complementary works such as aqueducts and the construction of sewer lines. The machine was delivered by dealer Salomoni, which has worked with Meneguzzi for over 25 years. A few days after delivery, the ZX240-7 was equipped with a crusher attachment and sent to the construction site in Porpetto (Udine) for the demolition of a building adjacent to a former construction shop.

A solid, high-performance crawler excavator, the 24-tonne handles conventional digging and earthmoving tasks as well as heavy-duty applications. It is powered by a turbocharged ISUZU 4HK1 engine that delivers 128.4 kW at 2,000 rpm; with a maximum tractive force of 203 kN, it easily overcomes slopes of 70%. The Stage V engine and TRIAS III hydraulic management combine to create an excellent balance of performance, fuel consumption and reduced emissions. Hitachi technology allows the excavator’s behaviour to be optimised according to the type of job, which is supported by the ECO indicator readable on the 8-inch multifunction monitor, which monitors the machine’s efficiency in detail.
The versatility of the ZX240-7 is enhanced by the pre-selectable working modes and the changing of attachments, which is speeded up thanks to the integrated quick-attach system on the monitor and can be set in a few simple steps. A common feature of the 7 series is the spacious and comfortable cab with low noise levels and less vibration than the previous generation. An ergonomic console adjustable in three positions, easy access to controls, a multifunctional controller and a high-resolution anti-glare screen make any operation simple and less tiring. And when it comes to safety, visibility of the work area is ensured by the Air Angle camera system with a 270° view from above, LED work lights and oversized mirrors.
“We chose Hitachi and the Salomoni team because they give us the confidence to rely on high-performance machines and a service that is always on time and effective. We have been building our future together for 25 years, investing in quality and innovation.”
