[Talks video] Irritec Educate to Sustainability at Eima 2020

From 11 to 15 November, Irritec Group, one of the world leaders in the smart irrigation sector, had participate to the EIMA Digital Preview (EDP), virtual preview of EIMA International, the biennial event dedicated to the world of agricultural mechanization, exceptionally postponed to February 2021. In this occasion, exhibiting companies, including Irritec, had the opportunity to share the latest technological innovations with an international audience, thanks to special virtual rooms.

Through the event’s interactive platform, Irritec offered visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in a three-dimensional reality, Irritec virtual stand, to learn more about the company’s product offering and its actions in sustainability. In addition, the company had present a preview of its Virual Field: an immersive experience that brought usersinside a virtual field, where they had could visualize and design the complete Irritec solution best suited to their needs. An innovative proposal coherent to Irritec’s pioneering spirit, which has been committed since 1974 to offering drip irrigation systems designed to optimize environmental resources and production processes, ensuring quality standards of excellence and a high level of service for the end user.

In addition to its presence as an exhibitor, Irritec will also host 4 interesting events (as part of the rich programme of webinar), during which the theme of sustainability in the field of agricultural irrigation will be addressed, with particular attention to the efficient use of water resources and the recovery of plastic.

The four scheduled talks are:

• Sustainability in agriculture: models and experiences by Giulia Giuffrè (Marketing Director and Sustainability Ambassador of Irritec Group) with Philippe Lejeune (Sales Director of Irritec Group), Linda Carobbi (Savino Del Bene SpA Director and co-founder of National Association Donne dell’Ortofrutta and EU President of Global Women Fresh), Nuccia Alboni (Administration and Marketing Manager Orto Natura Melanzì and co-founder of Associazione Nazionale Donne dell’Ortofrutta) and Daniela Bernacchi (Global Compact Network Italia General Secretary). The Irritec team works every day to spread environmental awareness, so in this talk new sustainable innovations are presented.

• Irritec: the complete irrigation solution by Giuseppe Giardina (Irritec Manager for Agronomic Training and Testing) and the Irritec technical team. The webinar represents an excursus of Irritec technology with the contribution of experts, who quote concrete cases related to the design and implementation of the complete fertigation system according to the type of needs and crop.

• Recovery of plastic from the field: Green Fields by Irritec helps farmers by Giulia Giuffrè (Marketing Director and Sustainability Ambassador of Irritec Group), Claudia Salvestrini (Consorzio Polieco Director), Carmelo Squadrito (S.a.t.i. srl Director) and Tonino Imbesi (Imbesi Agricultural Company) participate. The Green Field project, discussed during this talk, supports farmers for the disposal of the drip wing and allows the reuse of plastic.

• Fertigation: a step forward for drip irrigation by Giuseppe Giardina (Irritec Manager for Agronomic Training and Experimentation) with the participation of Edoardo Finocchiaro (Product Manager Plant Health & BioSolutions technologies FMC). The webinar provide practical advice on the main fertigation techniques for a better absorption of nutrients by plants and an even more efficient use of water resources.

Sustainability has always been at the heart of the Company’s commitment, which pursues its objectives by joining the UN Global Compact programme. Irritec was, in fact, one of the first international companies to create and launch Green Fields in 2015, the project that encourages farmers to the properly dispose of plastic products after use, ensuring a second life. In addition to this, there is also an intense training activity that the company promotes through the Irritec Academy centre, where seminars, courses and conferences are organised to spread the culture of water saving and the optimisation of resources to achieve maximum performance with minimum consumption of water, energy and nutrients.
