Dortmund-based BSI GmbH, a long-time Genie partner, becomes the German distributor for Terex’s tree care brand
Green-Tec, the Terex brand focused on tree care and vegetation management, has appointed BSI GmbH as its authorised distributor for Germany. BSI will handle sales, parts and service for the full Green-Tec range, from chippers and shredders to tree care handlers, tracked mulchers and attachments.
The choice of partner is telling. BSI is not a forestry dealer by origin but one of the leading access equipment providers in North Rhine-Westphalia, and it has been working with another Terex brand, Genie, for years.
A rental business built on Genie
Founded in 1996, BSI launched its rental business in 2008 with just ten Genie aerial work platforms. Today its fleet exceeds 550 machines, making it one of the largest access equipment providers in the Ruhr region. It also sells and rents telehandlers and lifting equipment, backed by extensive stock and dedicated logistics.
The company operates from a 10,000 m² facility in Dortmund that includes a showroom, workshop and warehouse, a base that Green-Tec expects to support customers across North Rhine-Westphalia and the wider German market.

Why it makes sense
Arborists, municipalities, utilities and landscaping contractors often already work with access equipment: tree work at height and vegetation management along roads and networks overlap in both customers and applications. A distributor that already serves that market, and already knows Terex processes and parts systems, can move faster than a newcomer.
“Having worked with Terex in the aerial work platform sector for many years, we have seen first-hand the value of strong products and relationships. With Green-Tec, we are building on this successful foundation and look forward to establishing the brand sustainably throughout Germany.”
Said Sven-Meyland Nielsen, Managing Director of BSI GmbH.
Patrick Guy, Business Development Manager (ROW) for Green-Tec, pointed to BSI’s service culture.
“Its strong presence within the German market, combined with its commitment to supporting customers throughout the entire equipment lifecycle, will make BSI an excellent distributor for Green-Tec.”
He said.
What changes for customers
For German buyers of chippers, shredders and mulchers, the appointment means a single national point of contact for sales, spare parts and service. For Green-Tec, it is a way into Europe’s largest economy through a partner with an established customer base and a lifecycle-support model already tested on access equipment.
The next step will be to see how quickly BSI can turn its access customers into tree care customers, and how far beyond the Ruhr its network can reach.
