Argo Tractors Consolidates Its Position on the Portuguese Market

In keeping with the Italian industrial group’s strategy of consolidating its large European branches, the Spanish branch of Argo Tractors, Argo Tractors Ibérica, will be expanding its coverage area to include Portugal as well.

Argo Tractors, a leading Italian manufacturer of cutting-edge tractors, has consolidated its presence in the Portuguese market by entrusting the distribution of its products to Argo Tractors Ibérica. The group’s Spanish branch will be handling the sale of Landini and McCormick tractors in Portugal from its location in Villamarciel (Valladolid). The main goal of this important strategic decision is to strengthen the two brands’ presence on the Portuguese market and to ensure a more direct and immediate relationship with their customers.

Andrés Moradas, general manager of Argo Tractors Ibérica, explained the wide range of possibilities that this change has opened up: “I’m really excited about this new project. I believe that the Portuguese market represents an excellent growth opportunity for the group’s brands. The goal is to place all the experience and professionalism demonstrated by the Spanish branch at the service of Portuguese professionals. We have a team and a range of products that are perfectly suited to their market conditions. The excellent service levels that we’re able to offer from our Valladolid location will allow us to greatly improve our relationship with Portuguese farmers.”

The integration of this new market further reinforces the Argo Tractors policy with regard to its large European branches.

“The Spanish branch’s extended coverage area, the newly inaugurated headquarters in France, and the investments in new plants for the German branch clearly demonstrate our desire and determination to consolidate ourselves as a global leader in the agricultural mechanisation industry,” says Simeone Morra, Corporate Business Director of Argo Tractors. “I’m convinced that the same excellent results achieved by the branch in Spain will be obtained on the Portuguese market as well”.

The head of the Sales Division for Portugal is Osvaldo Cordeiro, a professional with 11 years of experience in the agricultural machinery sector, who’s been working in close collaboration with Landini for 7 years.

As Cordeiro explains, “the goal is to convey the strength of the Landini and McCormick brands to Portuguese customers. The team of professionals who work for Argo Tractors Ibérica and their geographical proximity are the best guarantees for the success of this newly-launched project. In addition, we have a range of tractors that’s perfectly suited to the needs of the Portuguese market in terms of both power and equipment, and we’re confident that every farmer will be able to find the model that best meets their needs.”

The business plan is to maintain the existing dealer network, while at the same time leaving the door open for the inclusion of new partners and the appointment of new dealers. Thanks to their integration with the Iberian branch, the Portuguese dealers will have new tools at their disposal to improve their customer services and relations. In this regard, in addition to tractor sales, the Argo Parts staff will also offer added value to customers with specifically designed spare parts.

Last but not least, the dealers will also be included in the Argo 4.0 digital project. An investment that guarantees access to the latest digital tools, like the product configurator, the creation of dealer websites, the activation of an e-commerce portal, an advanced CRM management system, the Argo Trade-Inportal for used tractors, and the geomarketing program, all with the aim of offering comprehensive and more efficient services for professionals operating in the Portuguese agricultural sector.
