Hiab Introduces Next Generation LOGLIFT Forestry Crane: Improved Uptime, Safety and Performance

Hiab, part of Cargotec, announces the introduction of the next generation forestry crane, LOGLIFT 18S, with greater and safer performance, and improved uptime. The company will also show a prototype of the PANORAMA cabin in Pavilion P35 from 20 to 25 September at IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hannover, Germany. The PANORAMA cabin and the LOGLIFT 18S will be available to order in Q1 2023.

The S boom crane LOGLIFT 18S has a maximum outreach of 11.2 metres and a lifting capacity of 18 tonne metre. This is the second next generation LOGLIFT forestry crane following the launch of the Z boom model LOGLIFT 18Z.

“Forestry is a tough business that requires tough equipment like our reliable LOGLIFT 18S crane that is suited for extreme weather conditions, rugged environments and remote locations. The new crane will help operators lift more timber comfortably and without unexpected downtime,”

says Davide Pernice, Director, Global Product Management, Forestry, Hiab.

The next generation S boom has a longer outreach with improved hosing, fully protected oil distribution and cables to reduce the chance of unexpected downtime. It also has a new modular design for speedier installation of the new cranes, which can be installed with forestry crane accessories.

Like the LOGLIFT 18Z, the crane has an improved high seat with better ergonomics and sturdier ladder access. Once seated the operator has an improved field of vision and several new safety features like an illuminated emergency stop button and better illumination.

Providing full weather protection, Hiab’s new PANORAMA cabin offers market-leading visibility and improved ergonomics, providing operators with safe and comfortable working conditions. The cabin has double glazing on the side windows and better insulation to give the operator a quieter working environment.

Operators will benefit from more feedback about the forestry cranes’ conditions, customisable output and safety features such as overload protection indication and stabiliser activation with the operating system SPACE X4 that is customised for forestry cranes.

Customers can benefit further from Hiab’s digital and service offering that is available for the LOGLIFT 18S. Hiab’s HiConnect service and ProCare service agreements are available to enhance performance, safety and improve uptime.
