Zoomlion ZAT24000H All-Terrain Crane Leads the Global in Terms of Technology and Product Indicators

The appraisal meeting on scientific and technological achievements titled “Key technology and production application of the ZAT24000H all-terrain crane”, organized by the China Machinery Industry Federation, was held in Kunming City, Yunnan Province on May 27. At the scene, the 9-member appraisal committee of leading industry experts including academician Tan Jianrong agreed that the ZAT24000H all-terrain crane is in a leading position globally in terms of its overall technology and product indicators.

At the event, Fu Ling, Vice President and Chief Engineer at Zoomlion, and Luo Kai, Vice President at Zoomlion and General Manager at Zoomlion Mobile Crane Branch Company, delivered addresses. On behalf of the project team, Luo Zhixian, Deputy Director of the R&D Center at Zoomlion Mobile Crane Branch Company made a report on the achievements. Shou Renwang, Chairman of Kunming Zhiqi Hoisting Equipment Leasing Co., Ltd., provided an introduction to the application of the ZAT24000H all-terrain crane.

During their visit to the construction site of the Julongliang wind power project in Yunnan for inspection and appraisal, the members of the appraisal committee listened carefully to the presentations from the project construction organization and user representatives, and rigorously reviewed the relevant technical documents. After expert inquiry and discussions, the appraisal opinions were finally formed. Tan Jianrong, chairman of the appraisal committee and a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, read out the verified written opinion.

The experts all agree that the ZAT24000H all-terrain crane, which was subject to high technical difficulties in R&D, is innovative, with technologically advanced overall technology and product indicators in the world. In particular, Zoomlion made a breakthrough in a complete set of key technologies for the design, manufacturing, and control of all-terrain cranes, including the design and manufacturing of the boom featuring a great lift height and a large lift capacity and driving with a heavy-duty chassis. Also, it has achieved a highly integrated design of 2400-ton all-terrain cranes and the high-precision, smooth and safe operation of the boom system with a complex combination of 175m arm length and 175 ton lifting weight.

It is learned that the ZAT24000H all-terrain crane is a powerful construction tool created by Zoomlion for the development of new energy, breaking the world record for the largest tonnage all-terrain crane. The maximum rated lifting capacity of the product is 2400 tons—a new world record, and the maximum lifting height is 175 meters with a lifting weight of 175 tons, equivalent to lifting 117 small cars to a 60-story height at once.

Since its launch in June 2022, the ZAT24000H all-terrain crane has been successfully used in many large-scale wind power projects in China, such as the Zhaoguang wind power project in Heihe, a centralized batch concrete-tower wind farm with the largest generating capacity of a single 140-meter-tall wind turbine in China; the Hepu Xiwu wind power project with a height of 160 meters in Guangxi; the Julongliang wind power project in Kunming, Yunnan; and the Guyuan Shilishan wind power project in Zhangjiakou. It has won many accolades for its powerful performance, high construction efficiency, convenient relocation, and significant construction benefits.

As the core equipment for hoisting wind turbines, the all-terrain crane will continue to play a critical role in the construction of wind power projects throughout the country.

Currently, the key technologies of the Zoomlion ZAT24000H all-terrain crane have been applied to other series of all-terrain crane products, further improving the technical system of all-terrain cranes, setting a new benchmark for the development of the industry towards larger all-terrain cranes, and continuously providing support for the construction of major national strategic projects.
