Astra Heavy-Duty Trucks Will Be Equipped With Apollo EnduTrax Tyres

ASTRA, a manufacturer of construction and mining equipment and part of the IVECO Group, has selected Apollo Tyres’ EnduTrax tyres as original equipment (OE) for its range of heavy-duty off-road trucks. The agreement, which commenced in April 2024, marks the second partnership between Apollo Tyres and the IVECO Group.

The EnduTrax range has been subject to a rigorous homologation process by ASTRA to confirm that is suited to fit the extreme needs of its trucks, which are often required to tackle very challenging terrain and manage heavy loads.

The supply agreement encompasses three different EnduTrax products in five dimensions, all for 22.5-inch wheels: the 13R22.5 EnduTrax MA, 13R22.5 EnduTrax MD, 315/80R22.5 EnduTrax MA, 315/80R22.5 EnduTrax MD, and the 385/65R22.5 EnduTrax MA HD. The tyres are to be fitted to ASTRA’s full truck range: the HD9 Rigid and HD9 Tractor.

Produced at Apollo Tyres’ Gyöngyöshalász plant in Hungary, EnduTrax tyres are suited to a range of use cases, including large off-road trucks and tippers. High levels of durability are achieved through the strengthened casing, which significantly outperforms the requirements of European regulations. The tyre’s large contact area affords balanced pressure distribution for even rates of wear throughout its life, while the ply is reinforced to facilitate retreadability.

In addition, the EnduTrax’s advanced compound offers an 11% increase in cut and chip resistance compared to a regular Apollo Tyres regional all-wheel tyre, making it ideally suited for ASTRA customers operating in the construction and mining industries around the world.

“We’re proud to further strengthen our relationship with the IVECO Group through this new partnership, and we recognise that winning the confidence of the ASTRA team says a lot about the quality and durability of our products. EnduTrax has been designed for the most demanding heavy-duty off-road applications, and we look forward to seeing ASTRA customers put our tyres through their paces.”

said Yves Pouliquen, Group Head of Sales and Marketing at Apollo Tyres Europe.

The partnership with ASTRA follows the OE agreement confirmed with IVECO in April 2023 for the provision of EnduTrax for the truck brand’s Way range.
