[Job Story] Zoomlion’s R-Series Rigs Strengthen Middle East Desert Construction

A fleet of Zoomlion ZR255R rotary drilling rigs has been delivered to the UAE. Known for their multi-method adaptability, high efficiency and energy-saving performance, intelligent control systems, and stable reliability, the ZR255R rigs offer a robust solution for demanding drilling applications.

The R-series equipment delivered to the UAE is specifically designed for complex geological conditions and high-intensity construction scenarios. This equipment integrates four major drilling methods (Kelly drilling, casing driving, casing driving with oscillator, and CFA long auger drilling). Locally, it can handle high-intensity operations for building foundation piles and also meet the demanding requirements for walking capability when constructing power transmission towers in the heart of the desert.

Equipped with a high-torque power head, it can easily penetrate hard rock layers, with a maximum drilling diameter of 2 meters and a depth exceeding 60 meters. It features a high-efficiency engine that meets local emission standards, with an upgraded power output of 264 kW.

The intelligent control system provides real-time monitoring of construction data and offers five major auxiliary functions: one-button hole cleaning, one-button spoil discarding, one-button oscillator oil supply, one-button rock penetration, and centralized lubrication. These features significantly enhance operational precision and efficiency.

To address the harsh Middle Eastern environment, characterized by high temperatures and sandstorms, the equipment is configured with multiple protection systems to ensure stable, all-weather operation.

In the UAE, Zoomlion has established multiple service outlets and spare parts warehouses in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and other locations, providing comprehensive after-sales support, operator training services, and rapid spare parts supply to eliminate customer concerns.

“In the future, we will continue to be customer-oriented, contributing China’s strength to infrastructure development in the Middle East and globally with more intelligent and greener solutions!”

says, Qiu Chunsheng, General Manager of Zoomlion’s Overseas Marketing Company for Foundation Construction Equipment.
