LiuGong Strengthens Dealer Network in UK, Scotland and South Wales

LiuGong UK has appointed two new dealer partners: Dragon Plant Sales in South Wales and Lloyd in the north of England and Scotland. The expansion supports LiuGong’s ongoing UK growth strategy and underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence across Europe and key regional markets.

Strengthening Coverage Across the UK

Since entering the market in 2019, LiuGong UK has grown steadily through a combination of direct sales and regional dealer partnerships. This dual approach enables the company to roll out new technologies more effectively and provide stronger local support nationwide.
To support this growth, LiuGong is expanding its dealer network. Dragon Plant Sales, based in South Wales, will cover the entire Welsh region, while Lloyd, headquartered in Carlisle, will drive growth across northern England and Scotland through its network of eight branches.
Together, these new partners bring more than 75 years of collective experience in the UK construction equipment market and a deep understanding of customer needs. Their extensive industry knowledge and strong local relationships will be instrumental in driving LiuGong UK’s growth across the region.

“This is great news for LiuGong. We are delighted to welcome Dragon Plant Sales and Lloyd Ltd into our network. LiuGong is a world leader in several areas of plant equipment technology, and that captivates dealers.”

said Dean Thornwell, Managing Director of LiuGong UK.

A Dealer-Led Growth Strategy

These appointments reflect LiuGong UK’s broader strategy to strengthen nationwide coverage by combining direct engagement with key accounts and trusted regional dealer support. This enables customers to access LiuGong’s advanced product portfolio with better local service, knowledge, and responsiveness.

“We’re expanding our dealer network in the UK to meet our customers’ demands. That’s only achievable by appointing dealers who truly understand their local markets and customers. This is about extending our reach and getting advanced technology into the hands of more users. Ultimately, we aim to help customers overcome their toughest challenges.”

said Andrew Millen, UK Dealer Development Manager.

Commenting on the new partnership, Jason Derraven, Managing Director at Dragon Plant Sales Ltd, said:

“The quality of LiuGong’s machines is excellent. They’ve been very helpful from day one, with strong training and support. Whether it’s the yard staff or the wider team, you can always pick up the phone and someone’s there to help. I see a great future ahead and a strong partnership for us.”

George Lloyd, Managing Director of Lloyd, commented:

“The opportunity to partner with LiuGong is an exciting one for Lloyd. Their extensive range complements our current portfolio and provides cost-effective ownership and impressive innovation. LiuGong is already ahead of the game with the fifth generation of their battery and electric models, so we are looking forward to working with them and preparing for what the future holds.”

Resilience Amid Tariffs

This announcement reinforces the resilience of the LiuGong brand amid industry challenges, including tariffs on some Chinese manufacturers following the UK’s Trade Remedies Authority investigation.

“While the TRA’s investigation is largely behind us and it’s business as usual, we’ve appealed the tariff applied to our battery electric machines. It’s a short-sighted move that conflicts with the UK’s ambitions around net-zero and sustainability. As a manufacturer delivering world-class BEVs, we believe this could discourage progress at a time when low-carbon innovation should be accelerating.”

said Thornwell.

“We’re doubling down on the UK market. Even with tariffs, we are stronger than ever. Our dealer partners see real potential, and we want to be there for our customers with the best products, technology, and support.”

He added.
