The Scarce Components Availability and the Materials Prices Threaten the Italian Market Recovery: The Last Analysis From UNACEA

In the first 9 months of 2021, 14,141 construction machines were placed on theĀ Italian market, up 41% compared to the same period of 2020. In more detail, 13,583Ā earthmoving machinesĀ (+41%) and 558Ā road machinesĀ (+34%) were sold.

ā€œThe market is going well ā€“ saidĀ Mirco Risi, President of Unacea. However, the recovery risks being choked by the scarce availability of components and by the increasing prices of raw materials and logisticsā€.

International trade in the sector is positive as well, as shown by the latestĀ Foreign Trade Report Unacea-CER. Indeed, in the first 7 months of 2021Ā Italian exportsĀ of construction equipment reached the value of ā‚¬1,663 million, up 26%. Also theĀ importĀ dynamic remains expansive, recording a 43% increase over the same period of 2020 and exceeding the value of ā‚¬800 million. Finally, theĀ trade balanceĀ remains in surplus of over ā‚¬853 milion (+12%). Finally, Unacea has recently released to member companies the updating of theĀ Economic Forecast Report Unacea-CER, which estimates for the international market of construction equipment a growth up to 25% in 2021.
