31st Edition of Samoter Returns in the Name of Innovation

The new Samoter Lab area makes its debut at the fair with the Cantiere Digitale. Simultaneously in Verona is held Asphaltica, exhibition dedicated to technologies for road paving and road infrastructure.

Samoter returns with a 31st edition in the name of innovation. From 3 to 7 May 2023, the triennial international exhibition dedicated to construction machinery will be staged at Veronafiere: five days of the event in which 536 companies in the sector are the protagonists, of which 115 arrived from abroad, from 23 countries. There are 6 pavilions to visit for a total of over 50 thousand square meters, to which yes add up 3 external areas for exhibition and demo areas for dynamic tests. Together with Samoter, Asphaltica, an exhibition dedicated to technologies and solutions for road paving, safety and road infrastructures, promoted together with SITEB – Strade Italiane e Bitumi, takes place simultaneously.

Samoter is the only event in Italy to give a voice to the construction machinery supply chain as a whole and in Europe it is the main point of reference in 2023, with important attendances and returns among the major international builders in the world of construction related to earthmoving, concrete, road, drilling, crushing, lifting, vehicles, components and services. The exhibition confirms itself as an international b2b platform: this year there are 106 top foreign buyers selected, invited and hosted thanks to the investments of Veronafiere in collaboration with ICE-Agenzia. The countries 36 incoming targets: Albania, Angola, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Ivory Coast, Croatia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Jordan, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kenya , Libya, Poland, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, North Macedonia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Venezuela.

For the 2023 edition, Samoter puts the spotlight on the key role that the construction machinery industry plays destined to play in the field of environmental sustainability and in the development of new economic models: a necessary turning point that goes hand in hand with the 4.0 revolution. In this scenario, Samoter 2023 is the privileged observatory from which to discover the construction site of the future. The two great novelties of this edition of the show go in this direction. Pavilion 12, in fact, hosts for the first time the Samoter Lab, the exhibition area that brings together the companies offering the most innovative solutions, starting with those winners of the 24th edition of the Samoter Innovation Award, combined with of training and updating of the highest profile.

Among the technologies on display: sensors, remote sensing devices, diagnostic tools, drones, hybrid and electric vehicles for work in urban contexts, machines intelligent and digital platforms for human-to-machine (H2M) and machine-to-machine (M2M) interaction, security management software. To concretely demonstrate the philosophy of the Samoter Lab, the appointment is then in the external area F with the Shipyard Digital: a space of 3 thousand square meters where fully automated machines and technologies are at work in the construction of a road infrastructure; the initiative is carried out in collaboration with “Quelli of earthmoving”.

«Samoter 2023 is the culmination of a long approach that began in 2017 and then slowed down Covid –

says Federico Bricolo, president of Veronafiere.

The important thing is that in these years we are managed to maintain and strengthen relationships with companies and associations, never losing contact and dialogue with the market, through a series of initiatives such as the Samoter Days, the Samoter B2Press, the Innovation Award and the cycle of webinars. A closeness and planning that the sector has perceived as demonstrated by i numbers of this Samoter which also sees the return of major international manufacturers. For this edition we have strongly involved the institutions, primarily the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy e that of Infrastructures, present in Verona to listen to the requests of the sector. All this thanks to a great teamwork with partners and stakeholders, among which I want to especially thank Unacea, Siteb e ICE-Agency».

«At a time when the construction machinery sector is facing rapid evolution, Samoter makes his return, ready as always to do his part together with his entire community –

comments Maurizio Danese, managing director of Veronafiere.

Six years of absence from the exhibition scene a due to the pandemic they are a great challenge for a triennial and highly specialized event. But its history, which began in 1964, is also the strong point of this exhibition which, despite the difficulties, has committed itself even more to listening to the needs of companies, investing in designing a “tailor made” participation for companies, with a great focus on innovation and training».

The 31st edition therefore represents an important showcase and the essential appointment for all professionals working in the sector: a place for meeting and discussion which favors and supports business, without forgetting to provide the public of operators with data and food for thought to better analyze the current context and forecasts for the near future.

The construction chain, in fact, is central to the national economy and contributes 46% to the fixed investments in the country, 8.2% of GDP and 22.5% of industrial employment, with multiplier effects on the growth of national wealth. An additional demand of 1 billion euros in construction generates an overall impact on the economic system of 3.5 billion euros and an increase of more than 15 thousand employed, of which around 10,000 in construction and 5,000 in related sectors (source: ANCE-National Association Building Builders).

The 31st edition of Samoter is eagerly awaited also for the calendar of conferences and workshops: thanks to the collaboration with institutions, research centers, universities, specialized publishing, associations and companies, are more than 80 appointments in which operators can catch anticipations and indications of international scope. In the foreground there is always technological innovation declined in the ecological and digital transition, together to safety, training, rental, productivity, efficiency and new solutions for construction sites and on the streets.
