Steinexpo 2021 Cancelled: The Event Will Take Place in September 2023

The 11th steinexpo will therefore only take place in September 2023 in the MHI quarry in Nieder-Ofleiden.

The measures surrounding the pandemic do not allow the trade fair to be held this year. The 11th International Demonstration Trade Fair for the Raw Materials and Building Materials Industry must therefore be canceled for 2021 due to the unpredictable developments. After steinexpo 2020 was postponed to April 2021 thanks to the exemplary cooperation of all partners involved and the date had been announced, nothing seemed to stand in the way of hosting another successful event. But now it turns out that the measures relating to the pandemic do not allow a trade fair to be held. The 11th international demonstration fair for the raw materials and building materials industry planned for 2021 must therefore be canceled due to this unforeseeable development. There will not be another date outside the established three-year cycle. The 11th steinexpo will therefore only take place in September 2023 in the MHI quarry in Nieder-Ofleiden.

There was still a glimmer of hope in early January. As an open-air trade fair and with the elaborate hygiene concepts in place, the belief was that the 11th steinexpo should be on a good wicket to go ahead. In the meantime, however, it has become increasingly clear that the infection rate and the measures to curb the spread of the virus are throwing a further spanner in the works of the International Demonstration Trade Fair for the Raw Materials and Building Materials Industry. It is with a heavy heart that the organizers of Geoplan, therefore, had to take the decision to cancel the trade fair.

This means that national and international trade visitors to the fair, as well as exhibitors from the product segments of construction machinery, mineral processing technology, auxiliary equipment, and services, will have to dig deep for more patience in waiting to take part in this show.

Dr Friedhelm Rese, the managing partner of the trade fair organizer Geoplan, explains:

“This is really not an easy step for us to take. We fought to the end, continued to improve our hygiene concept, and received a lot of encouragement from the exhibitors. But finally, we cannot avoid canceling the show. After all, it is about the safety of everyone involved and that of the visitors.”

The trade fair director adds: “Our team has already prepared steinexpo 2021 together with the seasoned planning team, the operator of the stone quarry, and the exhibitors with a lot of dedication and heart and soul. I would like to thank everyone involved very much for this!”

Even in this difficult case, the organizer’s communication is clear and straightforward. This is part of the team’s self-image, is very much appreciated, and is particularly important in situations like the current COVID restrictions. Unambiguous words, expressed in good time, allow for smooth closure and readjustment.

Geoplan is therefore now only building on the preparations already made in the new planning phase for 2023.

“Together we will again make the 11th steinexpo in September 2023 a successful platform for the raw materials and building materials industry!”

is the promise of the trade fair director. The exact date will be announced as soon as possible.

More about Steinexpo

As the biggest and most significant stone quarry demonstration exhibition on the European continent, the steinexpo had its premiere in the Nieder-Ofleiden stone quarry in September 1990. The trade fair is held in a three-year cycle. By means of impressive live demonstrations against the backdrop of a magnificent stone quarry, manufacturers and dealers of building and processing machinery, utility vehicles, and heavy vehicles as well as plants for reclamation and treatment of materials put their performance capabilities on display. The recycling of mineral building materials represents another focus point. The steinexpo is steinexpo by Geoplan GMBH, Iffezheim.
